Race notice for the Kenmare 10k...Sat 11th Feb 2012

If you were to look through the list of road races in Kerry throughout the year, you'll find that there are relatively few in the south Kerry region. As a result, this new 10k race in Kenmare is bound to be of interest to a lot of people.

This 10km race will start (2pm) and end in the centre of the town and take in Kenmare’s three iconic bridges. The entry fee is €15. Teams of 2 and 4 are welcome, and entry fee is €20 per team, as is anyone wishing to walk the route.

Race headquarters will be in the Community Centre, Shelburne Street, Kenmare and will be open from 12:30pm on the day. To enter in advance, email the contact given on the Kenmare AC website and they will send you a form to return with your cheque. To enter online (individual €15 entries only) go to www.runireland.com/events/kenmare-bridge-10km-run.

In addition there will be a 1 mile race aimed at 18s, but also open to adults and walkers, which also starts and ends in the town. Entry fee for this is €5 with proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald House at Crumlin Hospital in Dublin which provides a home-from-home for families with seriously ill children. Visit www.rmhc.ie for more details.
